Six Neutrino Solutions is a data science consulting company that aims to make a positive impact on the world by finding solutions to challenging problems.

Joshua Albert founded Six Neutrino Solutions to further his goal of finding and solving challenging, impactful problems.

Josh started his journey in particle physics before making a pivot into data science. He spent over five years working at Levatas, where he worked his way up to principal data scientist. He was responsible for the core computer vision models for industrial inspection which Levatas specialized in. He maintains a good relationship with Levatas while seeking new challenges.

Josh has developed solutions for utilities, vendors, manufacturers, and scientists. His experience in data analysis ranges from frequentist statistics through decision-tree models, time series models, and neural networks. His computer vision experience is similarly broad, from Hough transformations through transformer neural networks.

  • Six Neutrino’s founder, Joshua Albert, got his start in particle physics research. For his PhD dissertation, Josh studied the interactions of neutrinos, tiny and elusive fundamental particles. He worked in an international collaboration using a state-of-the-art detector with a muon neutrino beam pointed at it. From millions of electronic signals, it filtered down and reconstructed into dozens of candidate neutrino interactions. From these dozens of interactions, his analysis narrowed it down to six instances of what appeared to be electron neutrino interactions. This allowed for an estimate of a neutrino oscillation angle, one of the fundamental properties of the universe (as we understand it), and the first data-driven estimate of that property. The six electron neutrinos are an example of taking a large dataset and extracting true value out of it, at the cutting edge of what is possible.

    Also, it is rather challenging to find a catchy name which hasn’t already been taken by someone else.

  • We are willing to work with anything, but we tend to use python for most of the data analysis and backend work. We use Docker for deployments where possible.
